A funny, non-stop action novel. Don’t try to take it seriously and you’ll probably have a lot of fun. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series.

Awaken Me Darkly by Gena Showalter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

And people say we don’t have erotica in the library. The plot was clearly written around the many and horribly detailed sex scenes, which is a shame because it would have been a better read with a strong dose of subtlety. Interesting enough world that I’ll try #2 in the series (I have a soft spot for police procedurals, and this is approaches a fantasy/sci-fi version of them).

This was a nice resolution to a beloved series. The words flew by just like the other novels. Prepare for a romantic ending.

Much, much better than the first book in the series. In fact, I’ll probably recommend to people that they just skip #1 and go straight to this one. Definitely interested to see where the author takes #3.
